The Polar and Environmental Geochemistry Lab, led by Byrd Center Principal Investigator Melisa Diaz, an assistant professor in the School of Earth Sciences, is currently seeking to appoint a Postdoctoral Scholar. This position offers the unique opportunity to play a key role in a NASA-funded initiative, focusing on studying and advancing our understanding of geochemical cycling at the ice-ocean interfaces in the Arctic.

The selected candidate will collaborate with partners, including the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution and the NASA Jet Propulsion Lab. The role involves the comprehensive use of remote sensing technologies, laboratory measurements, and field data, all critical components of NASA's IRES Ocean Worlds solicitation.

This Postdoctoral Scholar position, commencing on June 3, 2024, offers a significant opportunity for researchers passionate about pushing the boundaries of our understanding of geochemical processes in some of the most extreme environments on our planet. Interested individuals are encouraged to apply and may direct any inquiries to Melisa Diaz or proceed directly to the application for this research opportunity.
